What Causes Stress?What exactly is it? My parents have told me that i've been under it a lot lately?
They also say I need to relax. I know what it is but I don't understand actually what it is, and why it makes you act the way you do. Super confusing question sorry! Please Help!
Stress is mental, emotional, or physical strain caused by Anxiety or overwork. It may bring about such symptoms as fatigue, nervousness, and Depression.
Stress is an alert mechanism designed to prepare the body to respond to danger. It activates the "Fight or Flight" response, which releases adrenaline to fight harder or run faster. However, with everyday Stress, there is no real danger, only our discernment of a perceived threat. The mind and body do not know the difference, so they react as if the threat were real.
There are many stress factors in young people: Social conformities, academic demands, meeting expectations of family and friends, and the need for independence. What you do now to alter the way you respond to Stressful events, will determine your ability to find inner peace and contentment in the future.
