what R the signs or some symptoms to look 4. With an 11yr old boy on having some kind of Depression.?

I was just wondering..... I heard somewhere that Depression or Bipola can be pass down from a parent who has either one, to there children. Is this true? If so what should I do. Considering my oldest father has Bipola with scits tendencys, and i think i see some symptons in my 11 yr old already. OR???? Could I be just seeing that he just maybe starting puberty??

Sadness - The child may feel despondent and hopeless. They may cry easily. Some children will hide their tears by becoming withdrawn.

Loss of pleasure or interest - A child who has always enjoyed playing sports, for example, may suddenly decide to not try out for the team this year. They may complain of feeling "bored" or reject an offer to participate in an activity, which they've always enjoyed in the past.

Anxiety - The child may become anxious, tense, and panicky. The source of their Anxiety may well give you a clue to what's causing their Depression.

Turmoil - The child may feel worried and irritable. They may brood or lash out in Anger as a result of the distress they are feeling.

There's is certainly a genetic component to Depression, so your son may be more liable to it than the average 11-year-old. I encourage you to check with your pediatrician on this. One thing about depression that not everyone know is that each bout of it makes it more likely that it will happen again, so early treatment is important.
